From AFCi and Reuters: "Arsenal have signed Cameroon international midfielder Lauren from Spain's Real
Mallorca."
As reported by Simon last week, the fee is alleged by PA Sport to be in the region of £7 million. Lauren's full name is Laureano [this first name appears in various forms] Bisan-Etame Mayer, 23 years old with a Spanish passport, though as he was player of the tournament at the African Nations' Cup this year, he's a safe bet to have met work permit requirements through national appearances in any event.
His contract is apparently in the four-year range. In the last two years with Mallorca he scored five times in 85 appearances. So apparently the hunt for a double-figures midfielder is still on...
