Remember David Seaman's reason for wearing a ponytail?
Apparently some sponsorship deal depended on Arsenal
having a player with a ponytail, and he drew the short
straw.
With big Dave being out injured for a while, the sponsors
are getting twitchy. So what could be more natural (and
silky) than to buy Emmanuel Petit back from Barcelona.
That's what the Sun reckons is on the cards. Petit's having a bad time of it at Barca, being dumped to the subs bench or, strangely, the defence.
It all falls apart when you see the price though. They reckon the
Spanish giants would let Manu go for a cut price £1million.
It'd be an extraordinary bit of business on Arsenal's part,
having sold him for at least 5 times that in the summer.
Unbelievable, in fact. However Barca are using Manu, he's
still a World Cup winner, a European championship winner, and a class midfielder. Perhaps he doesn't fit in at the Nou Camp,
but there's plenty of clubs where he would, and a good few of them would surely pay a damn sight more than a million.
Meanwhile, Teamtalk say that Christopher Wreh could be joining Saudi team Al Hilal in the new year, when the Saudi league
has a transfer window. |
