With Edu virtually a Gunner (please!!) we're already feeling a bit deflated. The Brasilian transfer saga
has been with us so long it feels like an old friend.
Never fear, the Brasilian press are already having a stab at starting a new one, and it's a bit of a shocker. Jornal de Tarde
(a Sao Paulo paper) yesterday published a story linking Arsenal with a US$ 10million move for Juninho.
Yes, the same Juninho who played for Middlesbrough. He's now an Atletico Madrid player, but is currently on loan to Vasco de Gama until the summer.
It's a long shot, but could just be worth it. Juninho's been one of Vasco's best players this season. And he's still only 25. Don't go out and buy the shirt just yet though :-)
There are of course 2 Juninhos, just like there are 2 Edus.
We've had a few emails from people saying how pleased they are we're getting Edu, since he played so well in the Olympics. Well, I'm afraid that's the other Edu, who signed for Celta Vigo from
Sao Paulo last year. Ours, according to our Brasilian correspondent Emerson and others, is rated "much better". He didn't
go to the Olympics, but you may have seen his impressive play for Corinthians in the World Club Championship last January.
