Sylvain Wiltord has made it clear that he has no desire to leave Arsenal and is happy to stay and fight for a place.
Over the weekend, stories appeared linking him with a move to
Paris St Germain, with Brasilian striker Christian coming the other way. Christian wants away from PSG and they're keen to
sell so long as they can replace him with a decent striker. It's surprising that no tabloids have taken the opportunity to suggest a
Wiltord-Anelka swap deal! :-)
Christian was first linked with us
in July 1999, and
Wenger confirmed his interest. He moved to PSG instead, and his price seems to have gone down since then, if anything. Which isn't a great
sign for a Brasilian striker who's only in his mid 20s.
Meanwhile Crewe have acted to scotch rumours concerning
their latest young star, teenage striker Dean Ashton.
Ashton made his debut only last week, with a load of scouts said to be watching, and of course Arsenal were the first name out of
the hat. |
