Well done Jamie Scott for spotting this Arsenal reference hidden away on Soccernet.
The article is about the apparent exodus of stars from Glasgow Rangers. Although they've secure Claudio Caniggia, there's a
growing list of players apparently being allowed to leave.
Tugay, Albertz, & Reyna are all said to be on their way,
and the article focusses on Barry Ferguson. Will he stay and
persevere with the new midfield? If not there will doubtless be a mad scramble for his signature.
But Arsenal are said to be hot favourites to land another one of
his departing teammates, Giovanni van Bronckhurst. Soccernet say
that David Dein has met with Rangers chairman Murray, making us
more a more likely destination than Chelsea.
But surely, all it takes for us to be a more likely destination than Chelsea is our being interested. Some people we've heard
from have been convinced that van Bronckhurst would be one of
our big name arrivals this summer. But then again, there
are equally convinced voices saying that deals for Fowler and Campbell are as good as done.
