Lazio's Argentinian midfield star Juan Sebastian Veron is being touted to Manchester United and Arsenal for a 'knockdown' GBP 25 million. According to the Mirror, Veron's passport problems make it impossible for him to continue his career in Italy. Veron got dual Argentinian and EU citizenship by presenting the Italian passport of his 'grandfather', a man who never existed. The 26-year-old blames his club for entangling him in a web of intrigue, bribery and organised crime, and he faces the threat of deportation from Italy in October. Even if he's not entitled to EU citizenship, he can play as an Argentinian in the Premiership, if he is granted a work permit. With 41 caps for Argentina, that should hardly be a problem. Whether any English club can afford to buy him and pay his wages, is another matter...
