The latest keeper to be linked with Arsenal is Nicolas Penneteau. The French U21 goalie plays for Bastia, who are said to want £2.5million.
According to The Independent (and others), Wenger feels that he "could cover for Seaman now or join in the summer if a fee cannot be agreed over the coming weeks".
Arsenal officials are said to have met with the player's representatives in Paris, but we all know how much significance to attribute to that.
What is clear, after many months of on-off goalkeeping crisis, is that Le Boss won't be rushed into anything. Even though we could do with a bit more cover right now, he's unlikely to bring anyone in unless he feels they are definitely the right man. And if he finds the right man but finds that they are not available until the end of the season, then he may well wait and put his faith in the fitness of Seaman and Taylor, and the recovery of Shaaban.
The Turkish keeper Rustu appears to have ruled himself out of a
quick move anywhere, having hinted to the press that he won't make his mind up on any move before February.
