Leeds United (0) 1 - 0 (0) Arsenal
Elland Rd, Sunday 26th November 2000
FA Carling Premiership
Leeds won the game with a second-half Dacourt free-kick
which deflected off the top of Lauren's head leaving
Alex Manninger no chance.
It was probably just about deserved at the time, but Arsenal
pressed on and probably deserved equally to end with a point.
Deserved equally, if not for more poor finishing. We made
the chances but couldn't put them away, with Wiltord the
biggest culprit. He was unlucky to see a shot come out off the post one time though, after a peach of a defence splitting pass from the (surprisingly) returning Vieira.
Arsenal had 7 players booked, and there were reports of a
confrontation with the ref in the tunnel after the game. But
whatever it was, the ref has apparently said that he won't
be reporting it. Patrick Vieira was not one of the 7.
Arsenal have a week to get over this and show their champiuonship credentials again at home to Southampton on the 2nd of December. And that'll be a whole new month, we hope.
