After the losses of the last week, and the continued success of the likes of Ipswich in the league, Everton's visit to Highbury
on Saturday could not be more important. Arsenal should be able to
hang onto second, but need to string a few results together now
to prevent things getting very tight indeed.
We're missing Bergkamp still, and both Kanu and Lauren are on international duty in Africa. So, Wiltord & Henry up front, then. It'll
be interesting to see who's on the bench.
Silvinho and Edu must also be doubts, having missed the trip to Spain. Plus there are suggestions that Ashley Cole might no tbe
fit, although we're yet to see any confirmation of that.
Ray Parlour is out with a back problem, so it's odds-on that
we'll see the return of Gilles Grimandi alongside Vieira,
the Grimster making his return after a dose of flu.
Everton have Duncan Ferguson back, although not
considered 100% match fit yet he did complete 90 minutes on Monday. It could be an interesting contrast of attacking styles, with Ferguson alongside Kevin Campbell - both could be considered the type of
forward Arsenal lack and apparently don't want. But if Arsenal
play as they can, Everton shouldn't get many chances to see that comparison made.
According to Everton fansite The Blues, there are likely to be changes from the side that lost in injury time to Liverpool on Monday.
Gravesen for Nyarko and Alexandersson for Unsworth are their
predictions. Unsworth may not be fit, and Xavier is also a doubt.
Steve Watson could be kept out by a groin strain. Richard Gough had to come off with a calf problem in the Liverpool match,
Walter Smith has aid it's not serious but he's concerned "it
could go again".
