Blimey, it's not as if we need any more reasons to dislike Chelsea. Or the FA disciplinary board, for that matter. But how can they possibly justify clearing Celestine Babayaro on a violent conduct charge - following the Chelsea game at Highbury in February?
The Press Association reports that the charge against him was 'not proven' - and hence the FA had to accept his claim that it was all accidental.
Just to keep on the right side of the libel laws... we must therefore state that Babayaro did not deliberately stamp on the back of Freddie Ljungberg's leg, and he did not deliberately trip Dennis Bergkamp in an off-the-ball incident. Regardless of what we all saw (and here's a quick reminder in case you forgot).
As EMF once sang... unbelievable.
