Arsenal travel to Derby today needing to keep winning to stay ahead of the chasing pack. That's Ipswich and Leeds, both of whom have tricky games this weekend away to Charlton and home to Chelsea respectively. Derby know that another win would
see them virtually safe.
Bergkamp is still out, but should be returning to training about now
according to reports at the start of the week. Those same
reports said that Parlour could be back from his back injury in time for the Derby game (and that both players stood a chance of
making the cup final). AFCi now confirms that he returns to the squad.
But the Brazil pair are both out injured, Silvinho with an ankle problem, Edu with hamstring problems. Luzhny misses out with an unspecified injury, and Vivas did not get back from International duty in time.
Derby have Craig Burley and possibly Daryll Powell returning
from injury. Rory Delap withdrew from the Irish squad in midweek
due to an ankle injury, but could be fit in time
for the Arsenal match. Taribo West is another doubt, having picked up a back injury playing for Nigeria.
