Arsenal 4 (Henry 43, Pires 85 pen, Bergkamp 88, 89)
Premier League, Riverside

Arsenal have got revenge for last year's embarrassing 0-3 defeat at Highbury. Thierry Henry started up front with Sylvain Wiltord, and scored the only goal in the first half.

After the break, Ray Parlour was sent off. Arsenal reverted to a 4-4-1 formation with Wiltord on the right wing.

Robert Pires scored on a penalty after Ashley Cole was fouled in the area by Ugo Ehiogu six minutes from the end. The Boro defender was sent off.

Substitute Dennis Bergkamp scored two fast goals in the dying minutes.

Lineup: Seaman - Lauren, Campbell, Adams (c), Cole - Parlour (s/o 52), Vieira, Pires, Ljungberg (Grimandi) - Henry (Bergkamp), Wiltord (van Bronckhorst)

Bolton are top of the league after beating Leicester 5-0 away.
