Arsenal skipper Patrick Vieira is rated as only having a half chance of making the crunch Premiership match on Wednesday.
Paddy was brought off about 10 minutes into the second half of
Sunday's FA Cup semi with
a knee injury, and Arsene Wenger has revealed that he nearly
came off at half-time because of the problem. Although he
described the substitution as a "precaution", Wenger says that
Vieira is only 50-50 for Man Utd's visit to Highbury.
Vieira's Man U counterpart Roy Keane is also a slight doubt, having come off on Saturday with a dead leg. John O'Shea (looking more impressive every time I see him) picked up a knee injury, and there are also new doubts over Ryan Giggs and Wes Brown, both of whom have tight hamsterings.
Ashburrn adds... According to this Guardian report, Patrick Vieira has declared hiimself fit to face United on Wednesday. How much of that is true, we do not know, but the signs are positive.
How many 50-50's have been declared by Wenger this season and turned up for the match? I remember Oleg had a 20% chance of playing in Rome last year and he ended up playing the entire 90.
According to the official ManU site, Keane looks like he'll make it too, but Fabien Barthez
could be out with a stubbed toe.
