Does the season get any better for Thierry Henry?
Thierry Henry looked dejected after the Southampton match and sat on the Highbury turf taking it all in. Perhaps he was told that he would be rested for the Sunderland game, and knows that he will not be able to add to his goals tally to retain his Golden Boot. But nevertheless, he has won a prestigious double award, voted by his peers and by the Footballer's Writer's Association for being the best player this season.
He has scored 23 league goals and tonight set a new record of Premiership assists - 17. That alone tells you why he deserves the awards more than the horse-faced diver from Manchester, who has 24 league goals but only 2 assists. No arguments there, really.
