The big news for the trip to Everton is that both Dennis Bergkamp and Sylvain Wiltord are both still out, and both could be missing for a while yet. Dennis has calf problem and Wiltord an ankle injury, and they're both expect to be out for another 10 days.
However, Jeremie Aliadiere is back from illness and in the squad so we will at least have a striker on the bench. But Kanu played well on Sunday and could have earned himself a retention. Cygan also travels as does Pires. The latter must be a better candidate for a return.
Everton boss David Moyes has major doubts over
Alan Stubbs, Duncan Ferguson and Thomas Gravesen who are all undergoing treatment for groin, foot and knee injuries respectively.
If they can't make it, Joseph Yobo will probably deputise for Stubbs and Arsenal old-boy Kevin Campbell for Ferguson.
Rooney has had a slight muscle strain but is expected to be ok. But Richard Wright, Alex Nyarko and Alessandro Pistone are all definitely out with long-term injuries.
