Monaco (1) 1 - 1 (1) Arsenal
The second match of our French weekend finished like the first,
in a draw. This time it was just a goal apiece in the first half,
but both scorers coming from the home team.
There was little to get excited about in a lacklustre match,
with many subtitutions and little pattern.
Most disturbing was David Seaman pulling up with what looked
like a leg muscle injury right at the death, and having to be carried off. With Manninger out too Stuart Taylor will be
wondering if he'll get a shot at the Charity Shield.
The good news is that Matthew Upson started the match in defence,
and Grimandi didn't do badly when he came on at half-time. So the
situation regarding cover for Adams may not be as grim as we'd
feared.
See reports: AFCi, Soccernet.
Afterwards Wenger had nothing to say about Anelka except that he's
waiting till 12 O'clock tomorrow at which point the striker
will have to return to Arsenal if he hasn't signed for someone
else.
