Please note: this match was cancelled at late notice
by Regent's Park authorities. Unfortunately we didn't hear about this until after the event.
Once in a lifetime...
Arsenal & Tottenham vs Rangers & Celtic
Regent's Park, Saturday 17th March 2001. kick-off 10.30am.
In aid of Comic Relief
It sounds too mad to be true but I'm reliably informed
that this event is actually happening. A combined team of
Arsenal and Tottenham fans, playing against a combined
team of Rangers and Celtic fans. The tensions are expected to
tear Camden apart.
To help keep the players minds off the matter of who they're playing alongside, the organisers have introduced a new rule:
every player has to wear 1 of the following while playing:
- a skirt, or
- underpants on their head, or
- underpants over their shorts
We assume that the first option will not be open to
women players should there be any.
Please go along with some cash to donate to Comic Relief,
and help with the arduous but necessary task of taking the
piss. And occasionally reminding the players which side they're
on.
You'll probably never see this again.

The pitches are in the centre of the park, north of the inner circle and
open air theatre and south of the zoo. We shouldn't be hard to spot: a load
of blokes running around with a combination of skirts, underpants on heads
and over shorts plus 4 different kits on the same pitch!!
The best place to park is the streets between Prince Albert Rd & Wellington
Rd (to the north west of the park), as you can park here on Saturdays for
free,
BUT CHECK the parking signs to be sure. The meters on the Outer Circle
will cost you a fortune, so it's worth the extra 2 mins walk!!
