Nicky Southall's late withdrawal from Saturday's game at Highbury posed an awkward problem for Bolton's travelling party. They brought spare midfielder Djibril Diawara... but didn't bring his shirt.
So, according to an article on the club's site, they literally had to ask one of their fans for the shirt off his back - in return, to be fair, for a club training top. (The poor fella wasn't subjected to the elements or anything.) They then nipped into the Arsenal club shop and had Diawara's name and number quickly ironed on the back.
The stripped supporter, 34 year old XL-wearing postman Lee Houghton, is to get his shirt back - washed, we hope! - accompanied by the autographs by the Wanderers squad.
