Last night's tremendous nil-nil win in Turin has helped clarify Arsenal's schedule for the
rest of the season.
First, as anticipated, the away match at Fratton Park, originally due to be played on 25th March but postponed due to Pompey's waterlogged pitch, and then moved to 25th April, has now been moved again to April 12th, that's next Wednesday (8pm kick off, live on pay-per-view). We'll be playing the second (away) leg of the Champs League semi-final against Villareal on 25th April instead.
Secondly, the match away at Manchester City, which was due to be played on Easter Monday at 3pm, has been moved to the last week of the season, May 4th to be precise, kicking off at 7.45. This allows headline writers plenty of time to come up with their "May the 4th be with you" gags.
I wasn't expecting this one. Our semi-final first leg is over 48 hours after when the City game was due to be played, and it's far from unknown for teams to play 2 games in 3 days. So, full respect to the Premier League bods and especially Man City, for agreeing to it.
