Tonight's referee Pierluigi Collina (that scary-looking
but excellent Italian ref) has ordered a pitch inspection at
Spartak's Oleg Luzhniki stadium. It's been snowing and the
temperature drop today could freeze the playing surface.
The inspection is due at 3pm GMT, 2 hours before kick-off.
If the match is called off, it will be played tomorrow
night (weather-permitting, presumably).
Can't help wondering if Spartak's complaints about Leeds
United's attitude when their UEFA cup match was called off
last season, are somehow preparing the ground for a similarly
belligerent stance this time round. Spartak officials are said
to be confident that the game will go ahead.
