Valencia winger Kily Gonzalez will miss the second leg of the Champs League quarter-final next week.
Valencia bounced back from their defeat by Arsenal to beat Rayo Vallecano 4-1 on Saturday, but the Argentine winger's torn muscle
fibres in his leg will now keep him out for a month.
Valencia boss Hector Cuper commented, "He is a necessary player for our style of play and will be an important loss."
Meanwhile, the official Arsenal website carries this report on Kanu's Nigeria call-up. But it doesn't mention
the clash with our big match in Spain. The 5-day rule means that Nigeria could insist on Kanu's arrival for training with them, the day before the match in Valencia. Presumably Arsenal are already trying the diplomatic approach.
