Arsenal's games will clash with Liverpool's games, with the first round being played on the Tuesday. On the bright side, we won't be clashing with Man Utd - so Carlton might televise us occasionally.
- Having beaten Mallorca 2-0 in a pre-season friendly, that shouldn't be too big a worry.
- Schalke have just opened Europe's most advanced stadium, so that's a nice (and close!) away trip... they're currently stuck in the Bundesliga's mid-table.
- We played Panathinaikos in the 1998 competition, and did the double over them - same again please!
-
Thanks to Michael Doyle and Alex Reuben for pointing out that
Arsenal.com's Real Mallorca factfile has one Lauren Bisan-Etame Mayer listed as a player for them. While his former
membership of their squad may be useful, we doubt if he'll
be able to scupper their efforts from within.
- First match is away to Mallorca on 11th September. See Champs League page
for full schedule and opposition teams' webpages
