According to Arsenal.com, both Thierry Henry and Sylvain Wiltord face late fitness tests.
There are confusing quotes from Wenger about Henry. On the
one hand he's "physically fit and would have no problem playing in the game", on the other hand "I cannot say he was 100 per cent when we trained, and we will have to look closely at him... I have to be convinced that he can play without risking further damage..."
Wiltord has a knee injury picked up at Tottenham.
With Bergkamp not flying, and (apparently) no
young strikers in the squad (surely Aliadiere or Barrett
could have gone?) Kanu is thus our only fit striker.
Still, we're optimistic that at least one of the Frenchmen
will be ok. If not, perhaps Ljungberg will be used in the
withdrawn striker role which he has played for Sweden
(and for us in the past too, to good effect)
Keown also picked up a knock late in the derby game. The good
news is that Matthew Upson returns to the squad after his hamstring injury. Contrary to what I said here earlier, new boy Stathis Tavlaridis is not an option to partner Campbell if Martin doesn't make it. As Gareth points out, he was signed too late
to be eligible for this game (and the next). Stepanovs is in the squad though....
Adams, Seaman, Dixon, and Jeffers are all still injured,
and Luzhny serves the first of his 4 match ban.
Deportivo's main worry would appear to be their skipper and left winger Fran, who has been struggling with a leg muscle problem.
Their other problem is which of 2 in-form strikers to play.
Roy Makaay or Diego Tristan? Their coach has hinted that he
may go against his usual trend and start with them both.

Wenger says, "Deportivo are probably the most technically gifted sides in the whole of Europe and they can achieve anything they want to". Great
