The postponed Juventus vs Bayer Leverkusen match in Arsenal's
Champions League group finally went ahead yesterday afternoon.
The match was originally scheduled for 21st November (the day we played Deportivo in La Coruņa), but had to be postponed
due to heavy fog. It was rearranged for Wednesday evening of this week, but was postponed again for the same reason.
The clubs were ordered to play the game the following afternoon.
Leverkusen weren't too happy about it.
And they didn't get any happier. Juve won 4-0 with a brace from
Trezeguet and one each from Del Pierro and Igor Tudor. See
reports on World Soccer News, Bloomberg, BBC
This result takes Arsenal off the bottom of the group
(see champs league page).
But it gives Juventus an early advantage goals-wise,
and would make their trip to Highbury on Tuesday even more crucial, if that were possible. |
