 Team news for Champs League crunch by Rupe
on 12/3/02 at 08:37
this is story 234 of 365 in this topic to date
In tonight's winner-takes-all Champs League match, Deportivo are likely to field the same team that beat Real Madrid, in Madrid, in last week's Spanish Cup final. That team was: Molina; Scaloni, Cesar, Naybet, Romero; Sergio, Silva, Victor, Fran, Valeron; Tristan. Note that the disappointing home draw with Rayo Vallecano at the weekend featured a much-changed Deportivo line-up.

Arsenal could welcome back Ray Parlour and Oleg Luzhny from European suspensions. But both players were injured out of Saturday's draw in Newcastle. Luzhny is likely to be available having gotten over his tight hamstring, but Dixon and Lauren could well start in the full-back positions. Parlour's ankle will keep him out again.

Freddie is a probably starter in midfield having played his first 60 minutes since injury, on Saturday. But as he told the Standard, it was a tough comeback and, as he says, he probably wouldn't be able to move now if he'd stayed on the pitch any longer. If Freddie is left on the bench, Wiltord will presumably take his place in midfield. We don't expect Wenger to start with a fringe player like Edu unless he's forced to.

Arsenal will probably line-up:

Seaman;
Dixon Sol Igors Lauren;
Freddie Paddy Gilles Bob
Henry Bergkamp/Wiltord

Or maybe he'll go for a more attacking start with

Wiltord Paddy Bob Freddie

in midfield.
