The Champs League quarter-finals have been a bit
confusing for us Arsenal fans. Can the Deportivo and
Leverkusen teams which lost so heavily and won so well against
Man Utd and Liverpool really be the same teams we faced in
the group stage?
Anyway, tonight's news is that we have definitely
qualified for next season's competition. Chelsea could
only draw with Blackburn, so they can't catch us
(see table) and we're guaranteed a top 4 spot.
Not very newsworthy perhaps, as our sights are set
somewhat higher than 4th. But it seemed worth mentioning!
This week's European games have also seen our Premiership rivals
hit by injuries. England's potential loss (Owen, Beckham) and Ireland's (Keane) may be to Arsenal's benefit.
