Rami Shabaan is set to make his Arsenal debut against PSV tonight. David Seaman has a groin strain, and is a doubt for Saturday's North London derby. But seeing as we've qualified for the nect stage already, there's a chance that Wenger would have rested Seaman anyway. On the choice to play Shabaan rather than
last year's heroic stand-in, Wenger is quoted as saying "I know what Stuart Taylor can do", and he's reservign judgement on which deputy would play on Saturday if Seaman doesn't recover
in time.
Sol Campbell is understood to be missing. He was a doubt before
the Newcastle game, and having played in that win there is again
a possibility that his absence tomorrow is mainly about giving him the best chance of playing against his former team at the weekend. Stepanovs is favourite to step in alongside Cygan, especially as Luzhny will be required to take Lauren's place again.
Kanu is out with a knee injury so Bergkamp will probably play
alongside Henry, although there's a chance that Le Boss will take the opportunity to give Jeffers a start.
Parlour and Keown are still out.
I don't know if PSV picked up any new injuries at the weekend,
but the previews of their match just gone (a 3-1 win over Heerenveen which took PSV to the top fo the table) said that they had
pretty much a full squad to choose from. Keeper Ronald Waterreus
played despite doubts over a stomach strain.
Arsenal need to get more points than Dortmund do in their game against Auxerre, in order to finish top of the group (Dortmund are 1 point ahead, and if we finish level on points Arsenal win on the head-to-head). PSV and Auxerre are both playing for the
UEFA Cup place, with the Dutch side just having their noses in front. But Auxerre have looked the better side from what we've seen, and unlike PSV the French have home advantage. See Champs League page.
