Champs League teams and seedings by Rupe

this is story 287 of 365 in this topic to date
As we said earlier, Arsenal are in the top group of seeds for the Champs League draw tomorrow. Lazio did indeed complete their qualifying round win over Benfica to take the 8th slot in that group, so the teams we cannot be drawn against tomorrow are them, Milan, Juve, Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, Deportivo La Coruna, and Man Utd.

Chelsea can be added to that list as teams from the same country cannot be drawn against each other in the gorup stage. But Newcastle do not come into the equation, having lost on penalties tonight after Partsian Belgrade matched the Toon's first leg performance with a 1-0 win at St James's Park.

The full set of 32 teams, arranged into the 4 groups of 8, can be seen on this UEFA.com page. Basically we will be drawn against 1 team from each of the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th groups of 8, with the additional condition that there can only be 1 team from any 1 country in the group.

Obvious teams we'd want to avoid at this stage are Inter, Galatasaray, and (after last year) Ajax, who are only in the third group. So let's hope United get a couple of them.
