Arsenal have been drawn against PSV Eindhoven in the knockout stage of the Champions League. The first leg will be in Holland on Tuesday 20th Feb and the return at Ashburton Grove on Wednesday 7th March.
Arsenal have met PSV twice before, in the group stage of the competition. First, in 2002-03 when we started with a 4-0 away win (featuring Gilberto's record-breaking fastest ever Champs League goal) and finished the group with a 0-0 home draw (with 10 men) which was enough to win the group.
Then in 2004-05 we had a couple of tight results, 1-0 at home and 1-1 away, which was just enough to see us top the group ahead of PSV on the head-to-head.
PSV are clear at the top of the Dutch league, but clearly the draw could have been less kind. Liverpool have to play Barcelona, for example, and Celtic have Milan. The other British clubs won't be complainign either, though, with Manchester United drawn against Lille and Chelsea against Jose Mourinho's old club Porto, who Arsenal pipped for top spot with that glorious 0-0 the other week.
The other ties are Real Madrid vs Bayern Munich, Roma vs Lyon, and Internazionale vs Valencia.
